Chadacre Old Students' Association
Chadacre Old Students’ Association was originally formed to provide a close link
between ex-students and the Chadacre Agricultural Institute. The Association has been running since 1921 and therefore
has a large membership, predominantly from Suffolk and surrounding counties, with strong links in agriculture throughout
East Anglia.
Following the closure of the Chadacre Institute in 1988, the Association has extended its membership to beneficiaries
of the Chadacre Agricultural Trust fund.
Otley College has a ‘Chadacre Room’ in which photographs and memorabilia from the Institute days are displayed.
The Association’s members endeavour to keep alive the “spirit of Chadacre” which can be described as having the capacity
for hard work and enterprise, whilst keeping a sense of humour and an awareness of the needs of others.
Two newsletters are published each year, and the Association organises a number of annual functions including a
Dinner Dance and a Farm Walk.
Membership of the Association provides a point of contact between the many local farmers and traders who form a
network of mutual support and business throughout East Anglia.
