Grants
Students
Grants are provided on a competitive
basis to such persons as the Governing Body shall think fit
to enable them to research or study the theory or practice
of agriculture and farming, and related subjects.
Grants are awarded for relevant diploma, certificate, degree,
and higher degree courses.
Grants are given only to individuals who are not eligible
for State-funding.
The application forms provided by the
Trust require full details of the course, its duration and
cost, and a curriculum vitae including the education and employment
records of the applicant.
Farming Education
The Trust awards grants to enable
farmers and others working within agriculture to acquire relevant
new skills. The scope of this grant category is broad, and
includes provision of training to improve communication skills,
and the support of projects submitted by organisations providing
training or promoting improved agricultural practices.
Grants are awarded
to assist farmers or land managers to employ students on work
experience.

Research
The Trust promotes research into
all aspects of agriculture and farming, ecology and nature
conservation, and the publishing of the useful results of
such research or study. The Trust accepts applications from
agricultural research institutions for projects, preferably
conducted by postgraduate students, that are likely to have
a practical outcome for farming.

Research Scholarship
The Chadacre Agricultural Trust is offering a three-year research scholarship, in memory of Perry McClean, who was Administrator for the Trust from 1991 to 2001.
Research leaders are invited to submit details of a programme of research which will ultimately benefit farming in East Anglia.
The Trust will provide a minimum of £50,000 over three years towards the costs of employing a postgraduate student to work on the project.

Education of the Public
Grants are provided to support
projects organised by people working to educate the public,
particularly children, about all aspects of farming and how
it can co-exist with nature conservation.
